We all know the
Real Estate Agent is working for their commission and for the vendor of
the property, however they can be a great asset when trying to
purchase a home for yourself or
for investment, especially if you do not live in the area you wish to purchase in.
As they are driven solely by the need to sell and therefore make commission, they will do their
very best to match your requirements when you are looking for a property.
If you feel comfortable using them, they will save you quite a bit of leg work and time. Keep
in mind, they do not work for you, no matter how comfortable you are with them, they are working
for commission and the vendor. The up side is that it will cost you nothing to talk to them,
pick their brains and get them to do a little work for you.
Things to avoid with agents
are the agent drive around.
New Zealand Agents have a habit of taking you for a drive
around their area and pointing out properties they have just sold and the prices they have
gotten for them. They also show you the properties they have had for quite some time. Try
and avoid the drive around at all costs, it is just a waste of your time.
