So you now have a good idea of the property you are after, you know how much you have to
spend. Have you considered all the
extra property costs?
Just so you are aware below is a list of extras that cost you money when purchasing a
property. This is by no means a comprehensive list, just a few extras that you will have to
fork out for when purchasing a property in New Zealand.
- Solicitors Fees - Hate to say it, but you need one.
- Insurance for your Mortgage.
- Mortgage Application Fees - Many lenders will waive this fee, but you end you
paying for it in the long run.
- An valuation on your property and if it is an investment property a chattels
valuation.
- The costs involved in moving house.
- Inspections reports, LIM/PIM etc.
- Other expenses and costs.
It is good to be aware for the outset of these costs as they can be somewhat of a shock when
they are all added up.
