When one is
renovating a property in order to sell it on it is important not to waste money on the project. When you
renovate to sell it is essential to cater to the tastes of the broadest spectrum of people as possible. Many fall in the trap of designing to their own tastes and desires.
This is the wrong was to do it, you are wasting money and at the same time turning some of your potential buyers off.
If you are going to renovate before selling spend you money in the places it counts. The Kitchen and Bathroom are the biggest draws in any sale of a house.
Put the majority of you budget into these areas.
The first time a potential buyer see a house, subconsciously they have already made up their mind, so try and look at your home through their eyes. Make a great first impression, clean the roof, fix up windows, doors, floors, make sure it is all clean.
One of the most important rules when
renovating to sell it to keep everything neutral. This means don’t impose you favourite colour schemes on the house. Select whites, creams and plain colours, not everyone likes these colours but at least they have a blank canvas to work with once they are in the house.
Give the potential buyers a chance to imagine their personal touches on the house.
